Summer occurs in a hemisphere when the pole of that hemisphere is pointed towards the Sun. In the Northern Hemisphere summer starts with the summer solstice on the 21st of June and ends with the autumnal equinox on the 21st of September. In terms of the City Deepsky Project the seasons listed are for the Northern Hemisphere.
