This asterism, which looks like an upside down coathanger, was long thought to be a cluster. Recent data from the Hipparcos satellite seems to indicate that this group of stars is not a cluster, but simply an asterism[1]. Either way it's a cool looking object in binoculars. A telescope doesn't show the whole extent of the asterism.
